While it is completely free and ad-free, there is also an option to unlock additional tools and features through a low-cost subscription for those who wish to support the app and its ongoing development.

Here is a list of the features offered by SkyCandy:

• Sunrise + Sunset Forecast: Using local weather data, the app determines whether the next sunrise or sunset at your location will be vivid and colorful or drab and dreary. With the premium subscription, you can access forecasts for up to 5 days in advance, for any location.
• Sun Direction Tool: Drop a pin anywhere on the map to find out exactly which direction the sun will be at any given time, date, and location. This tool is particularly useful for photographers scouting photo shoot locations.
• Daylight Phases and Times: Obtain precise times for Sunrise, Sunset, Golden Hour, Blue Hour, and more.
• Multiple Locations*: The premium subscription allows you to save an unlimited number of custom locations for forecasts and access five-day forecasts. (Free users are limited to one location and daily forecasts.)
• Today Widget*: Activate a today widget displaying your quality score, time of sunset, and live countdown timer until sunset.
• Alerts & Notifications*: Configure automatic alerts and notifications for high-quality sunrise and sunset times at your location.
• More than 50 Tips, Tricks, and Facts: SkyCandy includes an extensive collection of helpful tips and facts that can help you elevate your sunset photography skills.
• Community Gallery: View real sunset photos uploaded by other SkyCandy users.
• Sun Countdown Timers: Keep track of the time remaining until your next sunrise or sunset, which is particularly useful for photographers who need to plan their shoots accordingly.
• In-App Support: If you encounter any issues or have trouble finding certain features, the app offers an in-app FAQ and knowledge base, as well as the ability to contact support directly.

The premium subscription is priced at $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year ($5+ savings for an annual subscription) and can be purchased within the app. Subscriptions include a free 7-day trial and are automatically billed on a monthly or annual basis unless canceled prior to the next billing cycle. Renewal will be charged to your iTunes Account 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your iTunes Account Settings. If you choose not to continue with the subscription after the free trial period, it is your responsibility to cancel it before the billing cycle begins. Any unused portion of the free trial will be forfeited upon subscription purchase.
